Gartner includes eZ Publish CMS in Web Content Management Magic Quadrant 30/11/2011 1:49 pm
eZ Publish has been included as one of the solutions within Garnter’s Magic Quadrant for Web Content Managment (WCM). The company’s recent acquisitions and its growing revenue base were key factors in including it in this years report.
Magic Quadrant: strongest vendors in high-growth markets
Gartner, Inc. (NYSE: IT) is the world's leading information technology research and advisory company and provides unbiased reports on key markets in the IT sector. The Magic Quadrant has 15 weighted criteria that plot vendors based on their relative strengths in the market. This model is well suited for high-growth and consolidating markets where market and vendor differentiations are distinct.
The requirements for consideration include revenues above US $10 million, five years in business with one year in multiple geographies, active in two industries and strong enterprise level references. eZ Systems inclusion in Gartner’s Magic Quadrant for November 2011 is a reflection of the company’s maturity and the growing sophistication of its product strategy. In the report, Gartner mentions that the WCM market should see a growth rate of 14% in the coming years, twice that of the overall enterprise software market. Gartner sees WCM reaching its full potential in enabling online channel optimization (OCO) and mentions four trends that are driving this vision:
- a need for real business impact, a focus on technology that works across channels
- integration with related technologies (such as analytics)
- a growing interest in cloud-based WCM.
eZ Systems: Vision and Execution
The report mentions eZ Systems’ open source model and their recent acquisitions of YouChoose a recommendation and personalization technology company as well as their purchase of Web analytics company, Odoscope. The company is given kudos for aligning its business model and product with the extended solution landscape that Gartner envisions while also giving points for the company’s solid work with its partner network. More and more end-user organizations are working to maximize the impact of engagements with their target audiences. This places increased demands on WCM vendors. Indeed, a recent Forrester survey determined that the leading cause of unsatisfactory WCM implementations was a poor or inadequate WCM product (47% of respondents) and the primary business driver for increased deployments was an improved multichannel customer experience (26% of respondents).
This is great news for eZ Systems and Aplyca as a committed business partner for over 5 years. Companies looking to enhance their digital presence and focus on increasingly important customer experience touch points can not only point to important success stories within the company’s customer base, but also to third party validation such as this one from Gartner.
